Privacy Policy

Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what Aculator collects, what it doesn't, and the choices you have.

Last updated:

This Privacy Policy applies to https://aculator.com (the “Site”), operated by Aculator (“we”, “us”). By using the Site you agree to the practices described here.

1. Calculator data is never collected

Every calculator on the Site runs entirely in your web browser. The numbers, dates, names or other values you enter are not transmitted to us, logged, stored or sold. Passwords created by our password generators are produced on your device with your browser's cryptographic random number generator and never leave it.

Some preferences, such as light/dark appearance, unit system and your cookie choice, are saved in your browser's local storage so the Site remembers them. This information stays on your device and you can clear it at any time through your browser settings.

2. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider and advertising partners may automatically receive standard technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, device type, referring page, pages viewed and the date and time of your visit. This is used to deliver the Site securely, prevent abuse and serve and measure ads.

3. Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google and other third-party vendors use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites.

If you decline personalized advertising, you may still see ads, but they will be based on general factors such as the page content rather than your interests.

4. Third-party vendors

Third-party vendors, including Google, may place and read cookies on your browser, or use web beacons and similar technologies, to collect information as a result of ad serving on the Site. Their use of this information is governed by their own privacy policies, not this one. We do not control these vendors' cookies.

5. Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the Site, for example which calculators are most popular. It collects pages viewed, device and browser type, approximate location derived from your IP address, and the referring site. It never receives the values you type into a calculator.

For visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, analytics cookies are used only after you accept cookies in our banner. You can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and opt out at any time with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

6. Cookies and your choices

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use them for advertising, analytics and remembering your consent choice. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies; we send your choice to Google using Consent Mode. You can change your mind by clearing your browser's site data, which will show the banner again. Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies in their settings.

7. Children's privacy

The Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Your rights under GDPR (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Our legal basis for advertising and analytics cookies is your consent. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

9. Your rights under CCPA/CPRA (California)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. To opt out of personalized advertising, reject cookies in our banner or use the Google Ads Settings link above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

10. Data security and retention

The Site is served over HTTPS. Because we don't collect calculator inputs, there is nothing of that kind to retain. Messages you email us are kept only as long as needed to respond.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted, and the “Last updated” date above will change.

12. Contact

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, email hello@aculator.com or use our contact form.
